Get Wrecked in the Egyptian Red Sea

Wrecks, wrecks and more wrecks!   There are plenty of wrecks to choose from in the Egyptian Red Sea, from the well-known wartime casualties Thistlegorm and Rosalie Moller to the cluster of nineteenth century wrecks including Carnatic, Dunraven and more, and all smothered in marine life and dripping with history and romance.

On these trips you'll get detailed pre-dive briefings on each wreck, plus a daily presentation on some aspect of maritime and Red Sea history so that you go home having enjoyed some superb diving and gained a deeper understanding of the wrecks and their place in history.  Take a look at the pages on Red Sea wrecks and you'll have some idea what to expect from the diving.

Here's a possible itinerary:

Day 1:     Check dive, cross to Abu Nuhas, dive Chrisoula K and Giannis D, then night-dive Abu Nuhas Reef*

Day 2:     Kimon M and  Carnatic at Abu Nuhas, cross to Gubal for afternoon and night-dives on the barge

Day 3:     Steam around the northern tip of Gubal and make three dives on Rosalie Moller

Day 4:     Ulysses at Gubal, then cross back to Kingston and finish on Thistlegorm for two dives

Day 5:     Two further dives on Thistlegorm, then Dunraven and night-dive the reef at Beacon Rock*

Day 6:     Two dives at Ras Mohammed and then Karaba en route for the final night on the boat at Ras Caty

*You might be lucky and night dive Giannis D or Dunraven instead of reefs!

Topics covered will include camera set-up, housing preparation and care, composition, lighting and post-processing images in software, all to help you get this sort of result:
